About us

Our mission is to enlarge Christ's Kingdom by growing the Baptist denomination in Australia.

We do this by funding local Baptist churches and missionary activities.

We are a nonprofit corporation founded in Texas in 2013. Our officers are based in the United States and Australia, and have considerable experience in areas such as church governance.

We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any particular Baptist Convention in the United States. However, our beliefs can be most closely identified with those of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Giving

Do you feel a burden for Australia, and a desire to support God's work there? Gifts to ABAI will be used in accordance with our mission of enlarging Christ's Kingdom by growing the Baptist denomination in Australia.

Donations can be made by check payable to 'Australian Baptist Advancement, Inc.' and mailed to: PO Box 831973, Richardson, TX 75083-1973, or by credit card using PayPal.

We are a 501(c)(3) public charity, so in most cases your donations will be tax-deductible.

Our officers are unpaid, and we keep our administration costs extremely low so that as much of your gift as possible can be used on the 'front line'.

What we fund

We provide financial support to local Baptist churches in Australia, for purposes such as paying pastors, or purchasing educational materials and media supplies. We may also fund missionaries, either sent from local churches to other parts of Australia, or from the United States.

Churches we fund must be located in Australia and identify themselves as Baptist churches; must have a structure and practices in line with Baptist principles; and must have beliefs that are not incompatible with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Our goal is to fund specific-purpose, short-term or strategic activities. Local churches should always have the objective of God meeting their needs from local sources in the longer term.
